    Believing in the persuasive power of comic language, she draws traces of depression through the arrangement of squares and symbols. The scars on the skin are transformed into images and narratives, and the afterimages in the memory are recorded as contemporary testimonies.

  2. 기술의 진보가 만든 균열 속에서 만화는 독립적으로 유통될 수 있음을 믿는다. 특정 제도나 플랫폼에 종속되지 않는 그 균열을 확장하는 꿈을 꾼다.
    I believe that comics can be distributed independently in the cracks created by technological advances.
    I dream of expanding those cracks, which are not dependent on any particular system or platform.

1. 해성과 상아를 구심점으로 여러 창작자들이 만들어나가는 접는선은 만화의 유통 구조를 실험하는 브랜드이다.
접는선은 독립 창작자들의 자유로운 창작을 돕는 브랜드로써 느리지만 꾸준한 행보를 보이고자 한다.

Fold and Press, created collectively by multiple artists with Haeseong and Sanga at its center, is a brand that experiments with new distribution structures for comics.
As a brand that supports the free creative practices of independent artists, Fold and Press aims to take slow but steady steps forward.

  


2. 납작한 종이는 접는선을 따라 겹쳐지며 새로운 형태로 변모한다.
접는선은 편견을 접어 입체적인 세상을 만들 이야기를 기다리고 있다.
모두의 이야기가 지면 위에서, 웹 상에서, 구전을 통해서, 그 외의 경로로, 드러나고 전해지길 바란다.

Flat paper folds along its crease and transforms into a new form.
Fold and Press awaits stories that fold away prejudice and construct a more dimensional world.
We hope that everyone’s stories will surface and be shared—on paper, across the web, through oral transmission, and by any other means imaginable.


3. 현재의 접는선은 독립출판을 기반으로 탈플랫폼과 독립 유통의 활성화를 실험하고 있다.

오늘날의 대형 웹툰, 웹소설 플랫폼은 시장을 과도하게 독점하고 있다. 그들은 창작자를 착취하는 구조를 고착화하고 단기적 수익에 집중하며 특정 인기 장르에만 투자를 집중한다. 그 속에서 다양성을 담은 서사들은 점점 설 자리를 잃어가고 있다.

Fold and Press is currently experimenting with independent publishing as a foundation for exploring de-platforming and activating creator-led distribution.

Today’s major webtoon and web-novel platforms hold an excessive monopoly over the market.
They reinforce exploitative structures for creators, prioritize short-term profit, and concentrate their investments only on a narrow range of popular genres.
Within such a system, narratives that carry diversity are steadily losing the space they deserve.




4. 접는선은 다양한 이야기들이 독립적으로 유통되고 살아남을 수 있는 구조를 지향한다.

독립 유통의 활성화로 독점 플랫폼의 착취에서 벗어나며, 거대 자본의 흐름에서 멀어질 수 있다.
이러한 유통 구조는 자본의 논리에 따라 제시되는 정상성의 벽을 무너뜨리고, 
개개인의 고유한 서사가 존중받을 수 있는 토양이 된다.

Fold and Press aims for a structure in which diverse stories can be distributed independently and endure on their own.

Through the activation of independent distribution, creators can break free from the exploitation of dominant platforms and move away from the flows of large capital.
Such a distribution model dismantles the walls of “normalcy” imposed by capital logic, creating fertile ground where each individual’s unique narrative can be respected.



5. 접는선은 즐거운 창작을 지향하는 독립출판사 팝니다 장작의 임프린트이다.
    접는선의 모든 도서는 팝니다 장작을 통해 ISBN을 발급 받는다.
